THE HEAT PROGRAMME
It all starts with a conversation at home, or if you prefer, a relaxed walk in the park. During that time we will discuss what exactly you want to achieve, how soon you need to start and finish, and how much you are able to invest, in terms of your time, money and energy. There are some forms to fill in, but mostly, it’s a chat all about you, your likes, your dislikes, and any concerns you may have.
I will invariably suggest some changes that you could make right away, with regards to your diet, and even show you two or three suitable exercises that you can do on your own. While all that is happening of course, you have a chance to decide if I am the right person to work with you?
Usually as part of your home consultation, I will ask you to stand on my special scales for a very simple and non-invasive set of measurements.
The data collected comprises of height, weight and age, current activity levels, BMI, body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, hydration levels, visceral fat readings, and metabolic age.
These results provide us with a snapshot of your current physical health – a ‘baseline check’ which is a starting point for later comparison, which we can use to monitor, test and measure your progress throughout your programme.
My priority for exercise, is to get you doing something, almost anything, to get you moving and to get you doing it most days of the week. We will be finding out what you like, what you are willing and able to do and get you doing it!
It may be so easy at first with that you cannot possibly say “It’s too hard, too long or too sweaty for me". Uh-huh, no excuses. The most important part, at the beginning is simply to get you into the habit of being active
Generally, your sessions with me will be once a week with a choice of 12, 24, 36 or 48 weeks of progressive fitness training.
Powered by Pro Coach, we will deliver daily lessons for you to listen, hear or watch on your PC, laptop or hand-held device. You will also get a new habit, every two weeks to practice while you learn. No more diets, no more calorie counting and no more weird ritual. Just healthy eating practices, with nutritious whole foods with a wide range of locally produced produce you buy in your local shops or markets.
The syllabus is 50 weeks of small, bite sized interaction with help from me, your Nutrition Coach.
It’s not only surveys that show people who wear activity trackers are more likely to stick to an exercise programme, even if that tracker only measures the basics like steps (as in walking).
Almost without exception, my clients with fitbit activity trackers – which I offer at no extra cost with the HEAT programme – say they are better motivated, and they enjoy being able to compare and compete with exercise goals.
The fitbit activity trackers are subject to availability and are not necessarily suitable for every client. Other devices are not currently on offer.
