Celebrate fitness… with 1-2-1 fitness training

An individually tailored training programme to keep you fighting fit, alert, responsive and most important of all… supporting you on your quest to become the happiest, healthiest version of yourself.

Is this you?

You may have a bit of weight to lose, but really you want to do something serious about your fitness – in your own time and at your own pace – without being under the gaze of gym goers or boot camp groups.

You joined a gym because you wanted to get fit, but after a while you stopped going because you find it difficult to keep motivated.

Now that the kids are older, you have some time on your hands and you really need to lose a bit of weight.

You signed up for a charity event such as Race for Life, Tough Mudder, or a trip to Kilimanjaro… and you need to get fit for it!

Sound familiar? If any of this resonates with you, I know I can help!

As human animals we are all the same in many ways, however, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity and general health, no two people respond the same to physical stress, emotional influences, exercise or even the food they eat. I need to get to know you to find out your wants and needs of course, but more importantly to discover who and what you really are. It’s important for me to understand what makes you tick, your dreams and aspirations, what your motivators are and what turns your stomach!

My ultimate purpose is to help you improve your health and prevent disease and disability, by implementing strategies and tactics designed to increase your physical activity, support a physically active lifestyle, reduce health risks and improve your quality of life.

I want exercise to be fun and rewarding for you, therefore the more I know about you, the better equipped I am to find the right form of exercise most likely to get the best results for you.

Your individually tailored Celebrate Fitness programme involves 12 weeks of progressive exercise starting at the level you are at now. 1-2-1 fitness-training sessions are conducted at your home and/or outdoors – it’s your choice (weather dependent of course) – and at your convenience.

Together we will:

  • talk about your wants and needs and set some goals
  • assess your current fitness level and discover what exercise works best for you
  • measure your results and your progress on an ongoing basis, and adapt your training (if necessary) to keep you on track.

I will provide you with the accountability, inspiration and motivation that you need, as well as practical friendly advice and a positive outlook. Everything you need to succeed!

Are you ready for change? Do you need someone to inspire and motivate you?
Let’s have a conversation…

Celebrate Fitness – your active training programme

home consultation

Home consultation

It all starts with a conversation at home – or if you prefer, a relaxed walk in the park – to discuss what exactly you want to achieve; how soon you need to start and finish; who or what will help or hinder your efforts; and how much you are able to and are prepared to invest, in terms of your time, money and energy.

To help me understand your lifestyle habits and any potential health risks, there are some forms to fill in, but mostly, it’s a chat all about you, your likes, your dislikes, and your priorities.

I may suggest some easy dietary changes that you can make immediately, and I’ll show you two or three suitable exercises that you can do right away, on your own.

health check

Fitness assessment

I will ask you to stand barefoot on my biometric scales for a simple and non-invasive set of measurements. The data collected comprises of height, weight and age, BMI, body fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, hydration levels, visceral fat readings, and metabolic age.

The results provide us with a snapshot of your current physical health and fitness levels. This ‘baseline’ measurement is a starting point used for future comparison.

Fitness assessments are conducted at regular intervals, so that we can monitor (and celebrate) your progress and ensure the effectiveness of your training – adjusting your programme where necessary to ensure that you are getting consistent positive results.

programme-for-success

Programme for success

It’s time to formulate your fitness-training programme. Clearly defined goals and definitions of success are to be agreed and a programme schedule set.
I’ll provide you with a detailed report: reiterating key points of our discussion regarding your lifestyle, commitments and goals; identifying any health and wellbeing issues or areas of concern; and my recommendations for strategies and interventions concerning your exercise requirements and any dietary considerations.

In addition I’ll give you an overview of your personal 12-week exercise programme, illustrating the progressions and milestones we’re working towards on the way to achieving your goals.

progressive-exercise

Progressive exercise

Progressive exercise means we start at a suitable level for you, gradually increasing the intensity and time spent with each session.
Cardiovascular exercises may include walking, nordic walking, jogging, running or cycling – no exercise machines required.
For strength and endurance you’ll be doing free-weights (standing or with the Swiss ball), abs exercises (on the mat or the Swiss ball), circuits, body weight exercises and a heap of plyometric exercises. We’ll even have a go at some High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) when you are ready!
It’s really not as daunting as you might think! Take a peek at some of my videos, where you’ll see some of my real clients in action.
healthy-eating

Healthy eating

Looking at the bigger picture, we should also be considering how you’re fuelling your body – particularly if you have a little weight to lose… let’s call it toning!
Most of us would like to re-shape some part of our bodies a little, whether it’s tightening up bingo wings, shedding a muffin top or firming up man-boobs. Truth be told, exercise alone may not do it all, but some simple dietary changes might help. Don’t worry I won’t try to sell you any lotions, potions or pills, but some of our conversations during training may be focused on what changes could be made to what, how, and even when you eat (and drink).
results-based

Your results

Fitness training is an ongoing process and I will work with you for as long or as short a time as needed. We’ll measure your results and your progress on an ongoing basis and adapt your training (if necessary) to keep you on track. As a result, you will:

  • build physical strength and confidence in your body
  • gain mental confidence, no longer hiding your gifts and talents
  • experience the peace of mind that comes with a clean bill of health.

I will support you every step of the way. You’ll discover what a strong, capable, fabulous person you really are and before you know it, when you are having fun, you will soon exceed your own expectations and start planning new goals.

Fitness training for adults is what playtime is for kids… so let’s have fun!

I hate going to the gym as I find it really boring. Running has never been my strong point but something I have always wanted to do. I have so much fun at Peter’s class I forget that I am actually running. He makes the whole workout interesting and social. I would recommend his groups to everyone.

I ran a half marathon last Saturday, it was a very warm day, and I can’t thank you enough for the running advice. Changing my style hurt like hell for a few days, a week even, but it looks like it paid off. I ran the distance and suffered no aches or pains after, plus I then went on to cycle 15 miles just for fun. So on the whole I’d say it’s going brilliantly!

Peter is excellent at what he does! A unique combination of personal fitness training, psychology, and awareness that if you are investing your time and money in something, it better bring results! It certainly has for me, on both a personal and business level… competent, life changing, fun and with high levels of energy and integrity – along with a spooky ability to read your mind – and tailor your programme and his approach accordingly. Highly recommended.

Well it’s official now – I am formally registered and entry verified for OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) World Champs! Exciting but scary times. Fundamentally I couldn’t have gotten to this point without all the help and support that you and your team have given me over the past few years, so thank you. If ever there was training motivation this is it! Happy days.

A large group of us at Rok foolishly signed up to do the 3 Peaks Challenge this year. When speaking to Peter about this he kindly invited us along to a taster event on a Thursday evening. Peter’s personable approach and understanding of individual goals and abilities, encouraged the group to attend a number of sessions. As a result, the team were geared up for what was to prove to be an extremely difficult but enjoyable event. I would highly recommend Peter.
